Frame the Favorite

Hello!
I'm trying a new location for this quarter's Frame It workshop.  The workshop will be held at Lowe Mill, in the North Classroom on Saturday, August 17 at 1:00 p.m.
The address is 2211 Seminole Drive, Huntsville.  It's a great creative place.  If you haven't ever been before, consider blocking out an extra hour to tour all the artists shops in the old cotton mill building. And don't forget your tea jar, there is a Piper & Leaf shop as well.
For anyone who is new to the Frame It workshops, there are some previous workshops still available to chose from, including the seahorse one shown on the Lowe Mill site.
This is the new layout available.

You can pay at the door (I do take cards), or you can reserve your space by paying through the PayPal link below.
I look forward to seeing you there!

June Bells & Whistles

Here is the Bells & Whistles layout from June, for anyone who was unable to attend but picked up a kit or for anyone wanting to recreate it.

The squares are cut using the largest square stitched die.  The photos need to be 3.5"X3.5" to fit nicely.  The white sheet is 11"X10" and the sapphire strips are 1/4".  The title is on the You are Here cartridge.
Here is the page with a few random photos on it, to show you a finished product.  I also added the colored flower to the top.  Not everyone in class likes to color, so this was an option - to an otherwise no coloring layout!
Just a little close up of the palm trees.  I stamped them once on Kraft paper and one on green and lagoon paper.  I trimmed the trunk off the green/lagoon cuts and popped the leaves on the full kraft cut.  Behind the palm trees is the 'hello sunshine' stamp in Lemon.  Consider raising it a bit on your layout, as the word sunshine becomes hidden on mine.

June Craft with Heart - Beautiful Memories

I am still loving the Craft with Heart kits!  I am able to complete both layouts, with pictures, each month without any trouble - and it keeps me from going a whole month without scrapping!
Here I'm using some photos from out of the deep - the giant tub my mother has stored photos in for years.  She's recently asked to help her move them out of the deep and into scrapbooks. I changed up the photo placement a little for this and added some of the loose rose gold sequins.  I also pilfered the "of us" portion of the other layout and moved it to this one.

Colorful Chameleon

Card workshop for this Thursday includes this colorful chameleon.
I used paper from the Mix-in paper pack, stamped it in bright colors using the timeless textures stamp set, the stamped and cut the chameleon.  The leaves are cut from the Flower market cartridge, the paper is from I heart Us paper pack, and the background if from the Defining You stamp set.  When I created this post, all the links work even the I heart Us paper pack.  Officially , it was retired as of April 30, but you could find it in the Going Soon! section where the remaining inventory of retired items linger until depleted!

Craft with Heart - Making Memories

Here is the other June Craft with Heart (subscription) layout.

I added some 2" dolphins from the You are Here cartridge, and switched up the photos a bit.  The original instructions used one vertical 4X6 and three horizontal 3X4's on the right page.  I also added an extra 3X4 on the left side.
The top layer of the dolphins was cut with silver glitter paper.  I taped the background dolphins and popped the ones in the forefront.

Feels Like Home PML Cards

I created these 6 cards with card bases, the PML Feels like Home set and some ribbon and embellishments from my stash. I just played around with the layering until it looked right to me.  You can work this magic with any set of PML cards.

These Picture My Life cards are still available for $6.50 in the Going Soon section.

G'day Mate!

More Into the Wild, but this time, the Wild's of Australia!  CTMH has this super cute set of Aussie animals, designed for the Australian market, but available to us Americans.  I colored them with the Shin-Hans and fussy cut them.

Run Wild

As  you can tell, I REALLY love the Into the Wild papers!  I blew right through the entire kit on a Saturday, making all the layouts and cards I've been showing you here.  This is another layout from the Workshop Your Way, but I modified it a bit. Here is the CTMH version (first one):

And here is my version:
I used the Into the Wild Cardmaking stamp set to add some detail to my White Daisy background.  My big square of blue will probably accommodate a quartet of smaller pictures. The wooden (look) creatures on the compliment sets are so cute!

I Moose You!

Another card with Into the Wild papers.  I used the shaker dies, silver sequins (a few too many, but oh well).  I cut the moose head using the dies, then fussy cut the rest of his antlers to add after building the shaker part.  The words are typed on my computer.

Wild Triangles

This is another layout using Into the Wild - pretty generic for whatever pictures I end up choosing, but really great colors.  I did use the Charming Borders for the dragonflies and decorated their wings with the clear shimmer brush. This layout is a version of some of the Feels like Home deluxe instructions. I liked the triangles, which are Cricut cuts.

Best Friends

I'm loving the May stamp of the month!  Here I used the Into the Wild papers, white glitter paper (now retired, ack!), stitched squares and rectangles, Shin-Han markers and some old enamel dots.  I stamped the ladies on the white square, on the green paper and the blue paper, then fussy cut the colored papers to paper piece their dresses.  The skirts and small lines are colored with the markers.
There is a lot of artwork on Pinterest using this stamp set.  It comes with a set of flowers and balloons designed to fit into her downward hand.

Into the Wild

My favorite kit of the new seasonal catalog is into the Wild.  I love the blues, greens and grays in this set!  This layout is one of the 3 included in the Workshop Your Way guide.  It's designed for four 4"x4" photos, but wouldn't be too hard to modify to 4-5 4"x6" photos and another small one added to the LARGE journaling block, which is probably what I'll do with some of that space.

You can't tell it from this picture, but I stitched (with a sewing machine) the top of the explore banner.  The papers are from the cutting sheet, and come with little printed stitch marks.  When I glued the two wooden triangles down, I used liquid glass, but only on the right side, so I could slide photos in when I find the right ones.
Have you noticed the new tip (sold separately) for our liquid glass bottles?  It gives you a superfine point, and a clog free tip - just make sure the metal wire slides into the tip when you close it!

Paper Suite Quartet

There are four new paper packs in the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.  For each paper suite (pack), there are 4 different kits you can purchase.  Here I'm showing you the Sweet Girl suite.
The first is the easiest - a Cut Above kit.  Two layouts for $18.

Second - the basic scrapbook kit - what we all have come to know and love.  It includes what you need to make 3 double layouts, including instructions.

Third - a deluxe scrapbooking kit.  This kit has different instructions, additional supplies and requires additional tools and inks.  These creations can be double layouts, single layouts, PML layouts or mini books.  Each kit is different.  These deluxe kits are a step up from the basic kits, involving techniques for your more seasoned scrappers or those who want to learn something new.

Fourth - a card kit.  These include two designs and supplies to make 6 cards of each design.  Your card kit includes envelopes and a stamp set that is exclusive to the card kit.
If you are super creative and do not need any help then the basic paper pack or PML cards may work for you!
