Color My Heart Dare #94

This week's colors a couple of my favorites - and thus, I don't have much paper in these colors!  The yellow squares are from Baby Cakes, the stamps are from the Buzz and Bumble kit, the sentiment is from B1419 Joyful Birthday.  And some sparkle for Glitz that showed up really well in the photo.

Tip: I stamped the flowers on white paper with Chocolate ink then used a sponge to rub on Hollyhock to make pink petals before I cut the flowers - much easier than trying to hold a little flower and color it.

Ready. Set. Go.

Again with the Let's Get Sketchy!  These sketches are one page ideas - great for just a few pictures, but if you have more, you can add them to the other side and make it a double layout. (Like my Zombie's Other Half).  Or try the CTMH Picture My Life pages - just slide your extra photos into a divided protector.

Another thing about sketches and challenges, they encourage you to get those pictures on a page.  If you can manage to finish a double layout once a week, you will have completed 100 pages in the course of a year!  That's like 3 or 4 complete albums - between 100 and 150 sheets of paper out of your stash, not to mention embellishments.

I didn't keep quite to the sketch like I have been, but it's all about getting it done like you want - whatever makes the page work for you.  It's fun to share, but these are my life time memories!

I pulled from the ProPlayer Pack, for both paper and embellishments.  The title is from the Artbooking Cartridge, page 69.  I set it for fit to length, 11".  The little road signs at the bottom house my date, and are from the Artiste cartridge, page 45, 1.25".

Magical Moment Challenge

I wanted to play the Heart 2 Heart Scrapbooking challenge for May and choose these pictures.  I guess any moment you choose to take a picture of, is a magical moment in someway.  This is from our trip to Vegas.

The stamped background is from D1482, Love Life, in Indian Corn Blue, Sky and Crystal Blue.  This stamp set is not in the current catalog, but it is still available.  The multipoint stars are from the Art Philosophy cartridge, page 23, back ones were cut in Indian Corn blue, the top ones in silver glitter paper.

The dark blue start is from the ProPlayer embellishments kit.

I completed my double spread LO and realized I loved it but hadn't left a space to journal.  And for this particular spread, I had a lot to say.

So I grabbed another photo, a 4X6 flip flap and wrote up my story.  Because of the layout design and my use of top loading sheets, I was able to stick the flip flap to the back of the page, instead of the protective cover.

I carried over the stamped background to the journaling mat as well.

May Stamp of the Month

May's stamp of the month just screamed chalkboard drawings to me.  I haven't come across another blog that used the white daisy on the black cardstock.  If you find one, let me know, I'd like to check it out.

This on uses the retired Scholastic paper pack, some new triangle studs.  The notepaper is cut from the Artiste cartridge, page 47, 3".

For this one I stamped the sentiment in white daisy, then swiped the note pad around the edges.  Lot more chalkboard-y.

On this one I added stars around the lower edge.  My star stamp is from the Home of the Brave retired stamp set, but any stars would work.  I curled the edge and stuck a little silver glitter paper under the corner.

Zombie's other half

This is the other side of a DLO.  The first was using a Let's Get Sketchy sketch.  I found I can live with a page that has just a few pictures on it and lots of room for embellishments or white space, if the rest of the pictures group well on the other side.  I used the True to Life stamp set again with this side, Ivy lane paper, a little hollyhock zipper ribbon, a retired flower, some tulle and small black flourishes.  Wow - I managed to get more on there than usual without it looking over crowded!

(I couldn't figure out how to pixelate the faces of the children that didn't belong to me.  Sorry they are a little creepy, but it is a zombie page.)

Color Dare #93

This card has some older prints behind the colorful cardstock (Surf's up and Wings).  I ripped some kraft paper and used some gold Glitz for more of a sand look.  The surfboards are from the Artbooking cartridge, page 53, at the recommended size of 7".  The stamps are also retired - Just Chillin' and Thoughtful Tidings.  Check out other great ideas at Color My Heart.

I'm a Zombie Girl

Using another sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

The paper is from Ivy Lane, with some small black flourishes.  The tag is a stamp from C1575, True to Life.

Holes in Her Head

I found a new blog site I like the page maps on - Let's Get Sketchy.  I've used the CTMH Free to Be Me papers to create a layout using their first challenge of the month.

Also used: Black epoxy bubbles, natural hemp, ruby washi tape and stamp set C1584 Feathers in Crème Brulee and some old stickers letters,  I like it a lot because I was able to pull from the color of the owl on her shirt and downplay some of that BRIGHT purple behind her!

May's Free Download

This month's free download at Rediscover CTMH (click the button to the right, under my picture) is a selection of water color squares with sayings in white.  The colors go well with the Free to Be Me special of the month.  It's only available with a $50 purchase, but it's only $5!

This is  what I did with a couple of the freebies:

Paper Basket

I'm donating a Huntington Scrapbooking Kit to a charity fundraiser.  They asked for gift baskets to auction off.  So I made a paper basket to wrap around the kit.  What do you think?

Mother's Day Nesting dolls

This card uses the Ariana paper and the March stamp of the month.  Stamp the dolls 4 times, once on two different prints and twice on white.  The design is very simple to cut out, and when you finish, you have 2 sets (thus the two white faces).  The clear flower I used was from the retired Claire embellishment pack, but any cute flower will work.

Got Boys?

Think the Ariana kit is just for girls?  Granted, it has some great floral paper.  But the blue and dark gray is another great paper from this kit.  Match it up with the ariana grey and crystal blue and you have a great boy layout.  I used the owl from the Artbooking cartridge, but these pages are minus any other embellishments or title until the perfect pictures are picked.  Space for 8 pictures, 1 journaling spot and a large area for a title or even another picture!
