April Bells & Whistles

Ah - a project completed on time.  Go, Me!
Another Universal Studios page, this time for Harry Potter World. Lots of fun Cricut cuts on this page, related to the movies.  I nabbed the basic idea from here.
This workshop is on Friday, April 12th, 6:30-8:30PM.  Cost is $10.

March Bells & Whistles

I'm a little late with this one, and the creative muse decided she was on vacation.  As a result, this kit is less complex than normal.  Since I don't have as many supplies in it, the cost of the kit is just $7.50.  It's simple enough to complete on your own, or feel free to complete it any time you are over for another event!
You can use this page for carousel pictures, or pony pages (race or ride), just leave off the posts from the middle of the horses.
This uses the colorful I Heart Us papers, and I've used it for a section of the Universal Studios park.

Never stop looking up

Another layout with the Craft with Heart kit!  More universal with a yellow car!  On this one I kept the photo layout except for the one on the far left, which I used a 4X6 instead of the 3X4.

Mystery Machine

This is what I did with one of the Craft with Heart subscription pages.  It's another page from Universal.  To downplay a little of the bright colors, I covered the right side with some vellum.

Here is the original layout.  I added a few more pictures, but the colors picked up nicely.

Parade

Another page with the retired Documented.

Why do I show you work with retired papers?  Because my brain does not work as fast as our catalogs change.  I might not need what's CTMH is offering right now, but if I like it, I'm sure I'll need it one day.  Maybe you have this paper pack in your stash and this inspires you.  Or maybe the layout works perfectly for some of your pictures, you just need to change up the papers.  And like my retired Document paper, maybe one day it will be just what you need!

Documented

Universal Studios Mardi Gras Parade, using the retired Documented papers.  I picked up the Mardi Gras title at a local scrapbook store.

Game Day

This was the February Bells & Whistles workshop.

If you would like to create this with your own supplies, you will need:
Something Fierce paper pack
White Daisy cardstock
Game Day Stamp set
Willow Ink
Bluebird ink
Expresso ink
dauber or sponge
Artbooking Cartridge
M sized ball of your choice
White cardstock
Circle dies
Stitched Circle dies
Shin-Han marker Golden Yellow
bitty sparkles
post-it note
blocks
scissors
trimmer
adhesive
foam dots or tape

  • Using the Artbooking cartridge, cut a stencil (page 51, 6" Overlay, r) to make the Willow dots in the two corners on your Daisy White base pages.  You can cut this from any scrap cardstock.
  • Place your strips cut from the Something Fierce paper pack (blue 3"x12", yellow 1"X12", green 2"X12") 3" from the top or bottom.  There are 3" of white space at both.
  • Stamp Game Day and Go Team in Bluebird on the base pages.  Curve the Go Team stamp when placing it on the block.
  • Stamp Game day onto a post-it note.  Trim closely around the GA and D, then place over the image you have stamped onto the base pages.  Stamp your ball using Expresso, and place so your image overlaps the post-it not.  NOTE - position the stamp, or trim your post-it, so you see all of the ball image you want to see.
  • Stamp a row of balls on the bottom of the right page.  You can mask some of the balls, to get a front and back row appearance, if desired.
  • Stamp another ball on a scrap piece of white.  Fussy cut it out, and pop it using foam tape on one of the balls in your stamped border.
  • Stamp Teamwork makes the dreamwork in BlueBird.
  • On another scrap, stamp Star Player in Willow.  Color the star in with the golden yellow marker.  Cut the image using the largest stitched die.  It will just fit.
  • Cut a large circle from the blue Something Fierce paper to border the star player circle.
  • From green, yellow and blue paper, cut triangle borders.  (Artbooking, page 63, border, h, 1"). You want one or two of each color. Cut apart the triangles and build the banners as shown.  Place a bitty sparkle between each triangle.

November Bells & Whistles

Just now posting this!  But I have a few people that need the instructions for kits they picked up after the workshop.  I added a few cutting details for anyone wanting to make this from their own stash.

Gray panels are 3"x12".  The snowflake paper from the Tis the Season pack (retired) works well too.
Red glitter paper strips - 1/4" x 12"
Candy Cane strip - 1/4" x 12" (left), 1/2" X 12" (right)
Wreath is cut from Flower Market (11", <Background>,<G>, page 25) on Fern cardstock.

  • Place gray panels on base pages.
  • Cut wreath in half and glue to gray panel.  The wreath is larger than you need. It can be trimmed or just covered with pictures.
  • Layer candy cane strip on interior edge of gray panel - do not place besides gray panel or the picture spacing will be off.  Place red glitter trim next to candy strip, again - on the gray panel.  Glue skinny gold and white ribbon between the two strips.
  • The pocket page sheet was cut and placed in between pictures.

I added some holly in fern and new England ivy, red glitter berries (just circles) and some pine leaves, to bulk up the wreath.  (I think these were all cut at 2").  These can be found on the G key and the <holly> key (pg 48).
