Happy Halloween!

I hope all the goblins and spooks in your day are super cute and sweeter than candy!

This card has a row of silver shimmer trim on the inside, that will shine through the triangle punch when closed.  The background was sponged with slate and thistle, using a spider web I cut from the Art Booking cartridge and didn't use.  The stamp set is a Cricut forever stamp set, Backdrop - Charmed.

Just the background was cool too.

Storage for the Recipe Swap

Are you participating in the recipe swap?  Consider this - those really super cute recipe cards aren't going to fit in your 4X6 recipe boxes.  I have punched a hole in the upper corner of mine and used a silver ring to hold them together.  You could also get a 6X6 album to store them in, but I'm loving this new option!

I'm storing all my cards in the My Acrylix Organizer.

Then, I can pull just what I need for this week and put it on my kitchen counter with the Designed Décor Flip Stand Album!  I have a 6X6 clear plastic sheet on the top to keep any kitchen splatters off my pretty cards!

I love it when I actually plan my meals for the coming week.  Saves my after-work tired brain from having to think or from having to run the grocery store last minute (and saves the family from another night of sandwiches!).  And now all my recipes are right there and creatively artsy to boot!

Recipe Swap and Free Shimmer Trim

It's time to start cooking all those fabulous home recipes. We all like those tried and true dishes, so how about sharing how it's made?  During the month of November, I am hosting a recipe swap.  Anyone may participate.

Rules:
*You have 2 weeks, until Nov. 6 to post your commitment to participate, either here or on the Facebook post.
*On November 7, I will post here and on Facebook how many people are participating.  You have 2 weeks, until Nov. 20th to complete a recipe card for each participant.  Recipe cards should be 6"X6" square.  You can use the same recipe and design for everyone.
*During the next 7 days, by Thanksgiving, have your cards make their way to me, either hand delivery or by post.  If you are participating long distance, please send matching postage with your cards, to cover the return trip.
*I will spend the next 7 days after Thanksgiving, distributing the recipe 'books' to you.

This is my sample, but I haven't settled on which recipe I'm going to use in the swap.

With this swap, I'm going to give away a roll of shimmer trim.  While not required to participate, if you use CTMH product on your cards, your name will go into the pot!  The winner will receive their prize with their recipe 'book'.

Halloween isn't a big card sending day, but don't we all know someone who would like a little hello in their mail box?

Sew Easy Halloween decoration

Sewing cards and scrapbook pages is easy if you have a sewing machine.  I used the machine to make this mobile as well.  The images are cut from the Art Booking cartridge

I used Quoth the Raven to decorate my plain Sunset cardstock.

Tips:
Sew your bottom bat on upside down - my last one wanted to flip, because there was no weight on the end.
Lay your bats (or spiders or owls) out on the floor in a pattern you like before sewing.
Space the thread between bats at different lengths.
I used a thick piece of Styrofoam I had in the garage to keep the paper off the door and let the bats float. (You can 'cut' Styrofoam with dental floss, in a sawing motion.)  This I attached to the door with the pull off sticky tabs for hanging posters and such.  A small box would work as well.

I love my mummy!

Just a quick little Halloween treat bag - but this mummy is so cute!  He's one of 6 cute characters in the Frightfully Fun stamp set for $9.95!
