Recipe Card Swap

Thanks to all who participated in the recipe swap!  I'm still waiting to receive a couple more sets of cards, but here's a preview.  My card was completed with the Brushed paper pack.  The Canary 'net' is from the Artbooking cartridge, set at 5" RDS (Real Dial Size). The flower and leaves are from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  Stamp set is Island Greetings - just $6.95!

Simple deer card

Like yesterday's card, this was cut from the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge.  The deer is cut at 5" (no RDS).  I slid him between three sheets of torn Daisy White paper.  The edges were covered in glue and a combination of clear embossing powder and glitter - to help keep the glitter in place.

The stamp set is Best Christmas.

Warm Wishes with Artfully Sent

Artfully Sent is loaded with really neat cards that encourage your artistic ability.  For this Warm Wishes Card I used the Snowhaven paper pack.

The snowflakes are stamped in Whisper, with the snowflakes from the Best Christmas stamp set.

The angled piece of paper was just leftovers from another project.  It fit, so I used it!

This is a 3-D card, the deer is adhered only at the ground by his feet, to the fold in the center.

Peace & Joy is stamped with black pigment ink, and embossed with clear powder.

Artfully sent also cuts out the envelope and insert.  When you finish, this is a quality card, heavy from the layers and details  you put into it.

Tree Troll

My favorite display at the casino's fall room, was this Tree Troll.  He needed his own special layout and I think it turned out pretty great.

A couple close ups of the embellishment clusters.

The tree is from the Artfully Sent Cartridge, page 44. I used a stamp from the Pathfinding WOTG, stamped in first and second generation Olive behind the branches for the leaves.

I'm also posting this on the Color My Heart Dare for this week.  Check out the great inspriation there!

Enchanted Garden

The fall paper pack Pathfinding has such great papers in it.  Last year (yes, Vegas again), one of the casino's had a wonderful fall display in their general areas.  I used the Pathfinding paper for this layout.

There's a little bit of everything thing on this page.  Glitter paper, gold bling gems, Pathfinding assortment (really good set of embellishments), stamps, Cricut cuts and some retired pieces from my stash.

This font is from the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.

Do these look familiar?  Recycle, reduce, reuse!  These were salvaged from a decorated candle I did last year.  You can see the original post here.  The stamp set on these pages is Thankful Heart.

Upcycle

Upcycle your commercial Christmas cards into gift tags.  It's super easy with the Cricut to cut your shapes for you. I found a 3" tag works best.  Place your cards on your mat -

Use your arrow keys to set the cutter on the next card.  Just a few practice cards, and you'll know where you need to start to cut exactly what you want. The Christmas scenes are great - all 4 tags from one card!
Then I tie a little twine or embroidery thread in the top, stamp the back with a to: and from: and a little decorative stamp - all loaded on one block so it's a single stamp.

On these I used the to: fr: of the Christmas Post stamp set and the holly and ribbon from the Noel stamp set.

It took a single evening to upcycle all my cards, but I have enough tags for this Christmas and a few to share!

It's the Little Things

November's Stamp of the Month is called It's the little things.  You can purchase it for $17.95 or get it for just $5.00 when you place a $50.00 order.  I used it and the Brushed paper pack to create this layout.

One day I might actually get my pictures to turn out right!  These colors are actually the new Canary and Pixie, with Topiary.  For the flowers, I stamped the round circles of the SOTM, then rotated the stamp slightly and re-stamped (with fresh ink, not second generation).
