Ponderosa Pine & Cranberry

I made two cards for this challenge.  First - the simple one.

I moved the cricut over 1" before cutting the word Noel from the Artiste cartridge, page 79, 3.5" cut to fit length. I placed the red paper on a white background to see how much I needed to ink with the Ponderosa Pine.

The border stamp at the top is from Santa Claus (C1567), with three bitty pearls.

But that card has no glitter!  This one does.

Sentiment - October SOTM - cranberry ink
Script - Universal backgrounds - ponderosa pine ink
Swirl & Star - Love Life (D1482) - ponderosa pink pigment ink and clear embossing powder

I began the project thinking the green glitter and cranberry ornament (Art Philosophy, page 27, 4" fit to length) would be positioned in the middle, but I liked the swirl too much so I cut the ornament and added the star.

  1. Ooo...I like the effect of the sponging on the NOEL card!! And I like how you adjusted your second card because I think the swirl is really pretty, too. Thanks for linking up to Color My Heart this week. We always love seeing your creations!!

  2. I love the stamping! I never think to 'double stamp' on my projects. The effect has so much texture!

  3. I can't decide which I like better! I love the sponging technique behind the Noel. But I also love the collage look on the ornament card. Thanks for sharing this week!

  4. Love both of your cards. I especially love the combination of a background stamp and flourish -- I'm going to have to try that. Thanks for being this week's GD at Color Dare!
