2018 Week 11

 

I dug into the Gimme some Sugar paper pack this weekend.  This is one of the layouts from the kit.  I really liked the instructions for this kit, because it mas more than just strips.  You could easily add another photo beside the Just Roll with it PML, but I wanted to show the cooking equipment.  This is actually good paper for those of us who like to take a picture of all the great food or places we eat at when we vacation.  The colors are juniper and blossom - great baby girl papers.

Hurricane didn't send any selfies for this month, so I pulled an old one out, from when she helped cook as a toddler.

 

Easter Cards

I was in the mood this weekend to do some last minute Easter cards.  This stamp set is so cute!  I did pull out some old Copics markers for the lighter coloring on my animals.  The clouds are from the Splash of Color stamp set.

April Bells & Whistles

This is the layout we'll be doing at the Bells & Whistles workshop on April 20th.  I designed it to be a birthday page, but the color's lend themselves to a pool page too.  In my sample I have the balloons the 4 bright primary colors, but there will be 6 colors to choose from at the workshop - Ruby, Sapphire, Willow, Lemon, Blossom and Lagoon.  You can match the balloons to suit your pictures.  Switching the Ruby out and using Lagoon will co-ordinate better for pool pages.
The star background paper is a masking technique you will do at the workshop.

Registration for the event opens on March 21, 2018 and closes on April 19, 2018.

There are 24 spots available.  Your paid reservation guarantees you a spot, regardless of your arrival time.  If the spots fill up, registration may close early. 

 

Sleeping arrangements are not included in the crop.  The nearest hotel is Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 2600 Old Fairway Road, with a nightly rate of $95.  If you are interested in booking and sharing a room, I can help co-ordinate the logistics.  Going home is also suggested.  Your supplies will be safe until your return.

 

Simple meals are included (bagels, soup, sandwiches).  We are near several fast food restaurants if you would like to take a break and eat out.  Shared snacks are always welcome. 

 

We are scrapping the weekend away – comfortable clothes are part of the package!  Pajama’s and all forms of comfortable clothes are welcome.  The chairs are of the foldout type.  A cushion is recommended for comfort, as well as a table lamp (and extension cord) for better lighting.

2018 Week 9

One of the great things about our kits is the complete page - embellishments and all.  When I start with my photos instead of with a layout, the pages tend to be simpler.  This set I actually started at Convention.  The page on the right was a workshop during the event.  And no, it's not cheating to put your pictures on a pre-done page!  It's getting your memories in the book that count - no matter how you choose to do it.

Hello!
Well, I missed week 6 in making a layout, and I'm a little behind in posting, but I should get caught up (blogging) this week.
For week 7, I've picked one of the layouts I did at the Fundamentals Retreat.
This paper is from the Silver and Gold WYW.  The blank space is for the daughter's school calendar she hasn't sent yet. This is another page in her college book.
