Color My Heart #86
The colors of this week's challenge - New England Ivy, Ponderosa Pine and Goldrush, spoke to me of the outdoors.
Since my background was Ponderosa Pine, with my inks being New England Ivy and Goldrush. The Goldrush paper is from the retired Surf's Up kit. The stamp set is A1127, A Journey (retired).

Ribbon tip
This may be an old tip, but it's one I hadn't heard (recently enough to remember anyway). I was keeping my ribbon from unwinding by using a pin or a piece of tape, but took a tip this weekend from your regular spool of thread. I snipped a small cut in the surrounding cardboard and looped the end of my smaller ribbons through to hold it.

Unicorns and Glitter
Got Girls? Check out the magical unicorn stamp set, available with your hostess rewards credits for only $10.
I cut a strip of glitter trim in half to outline the main frame here.
So, I clean my stamps with wet wipes. And after a while I have this very pretty colorful wet wipe. I laid one across some white cardstock, pressed and left it for about 10 minutes; a nice amount of the ink transferred to the paper, in the water color style of the wet wipe. On the unicorn, it was a clear print of the small unicorn, but I laid a wet wipe on it, pressed and lifted immediately. The ink bled a little with the addition moisture for the effect you see.

A Big Thanks
Thanks to all the great scrapping buddies who have sent get well cards to my sister. She has been tickled pink to receive them - and the nice pillow case! She is still recovering but doing well.

Using the negative space
I did a double layout a while back, and left the negative space on my Cricut mat. (It was not a new Cricut mat. Paper left on a new mat becomes a permanent part of the mat.) I finally got around to putting some tape on the hexagons and lifting them onto cards.
I was able to embellish 8 card with the negative space, five of which I will show you.

Get well card
Just a simple card.
The butterfly is cut from the Artbooking cartridge, page 62. I left it on the 11" setting. The gold strip is from the Ivy Lane Card making kit. It's the only place to get gold shimmer trim right now, but you could use a cut strip from the Brown and Tan Glitter paper. The washi tape is from the Sparkle and Shine kit (retired). I used a strip of the washi tape on the back of the envelope, like an envelope seal.
