Christmas poinsettia, anyone? The challenge for this week of Cranberry and Ponderosa Pine was a great combination for this gift topper. I like it on top of a pint jar, but you could also attach it to the side and use some Sparkle and Shine fabric on the top. Change the colors up a bit for a birthday gift and turn the poinsettia into a water lily.
Cut 4 layers from cranberry cardstock, Artiste cartridge, page 73, accent 1. One each - 3", 2.75", 2.5", 2". Stamp one side of each layer with a background design -I used the music notes from Universal backgrounds D1477 (not in current catalog but still available). Flip the layers so it alternates plain/stamped. Curl the edges of the petals, assemble with tape in the center. I picked one layer and added red Glitz after assembly. The leaves are cut from ponderosa pine cardstock, Artiste, page 54, accent 4. The center is from Magical Days, again in Ponderosa.

Ponderosa Pine & Cranberry
I made two cards for this challenge. First - the simple one.
I moved the cricut over 1" before cutting the word Noel from the Artiste cartridge, page 79, 3.5" cut to fit length. I placed the red paper on a white background to see how much I needed to ink with the Ponderosa Pine.
The border stamp at the top is from Santa Claus (C1567), with three bitty pearls.
But that card has no glitter! This one does.
Sentiment - October SOTM - cranberry ink
Script - Universal backgrounds - ponderosa pine ink
Swirl & Star - Love Life (D1482) - ponderosa pink pigment ink and clear embossing powder
I began the project thinking the green glitter and cranberry ornament (Art Philosophy, page 27, 4" fit to length) would be positioned in the middle, but I liked the swirl too much so I cut the ornament and added the star.

Sparkle and Shine Washi!
Washi tape is not just fun to say, it's neat to use. The stripes on the right hand side of the card are from a zip strip and then washi tape around it. I even used a little to decorate the back of the card.

Bonus tag on Workshop day
This one was too easy to pass up. It's simply cardstock cut 3"X8", a 2" circle punch on the end, and scored at 5.5" The September stamp of the month in ruby and it's done! Good wishes and a signature can go on the back side. Decorate wine bottles, liquor, sparkling juices, bubble bath or bottles of flavored olive oil.

Christmas Medallions
Okay, so medallions aren't really the right word for what I've come up with. This one worked out to be a little bigger than I thought, but it'll fit around a bottle of cheer, the top of a gift box or on a 5X7 card base. The snowmen can be inked long ways and it will wrap around a quart jar or the My Creations Kraft Container.

Extra Project
The November workshop is Thursday, November 21st, 5:30 - 7:30pm. Cost is $5. I've been a little slow in getting the designs created but here's a rejected attempt with instructions. I like the project but it didn't fit with the designed uses for our workshop.
From cranberry cardstock, cut a 5" empty circle, Art Philosophy cartridge, page 21. Punch various sized circles (or cut from the Cricut) from 1 1/4" to 2" in size. Use paper from the Sparkle and Shine paper pack, some daisy white and a few from silver glitter paper. Stamp a Santa from the C1567 Santa Claus stamp set, and his Ho! Ho! Ho!. The middle sentiment is from Artiste, 2.25", page 80. Make a circle of liquid glass around the empty circle, and place your circles in a pleasing pattern. Start with 4-2" circles across from each other.
Then add your smaller circles as wanted. Test your spacing and add a little glue when needed. Also suggested is placing your circles, then taking a picture (which I DIDN'T do) and reassemble.

Color Dare #68
Entering the Close to My Heart Color Dare again!
Just a simple card, sunset cardstock for the back, stamped with the baby rattle from D1561 B is for Baby, a strip of buttercup yellow from the babycakes paper kit, and a canvas sticker from X7173C Babycakes Complements. The bottom border is in chocolate cardstock, cut from ArtBooking cartridge, page 61, 11". The cut piece was just a little longer than I needed for this card, so I wouldn't recommend a sizing adjustment.
I also made this one, using the November SOTM. The script stamp and light lantern on the sentiment is second generation slate.
